Description
This is an autographed 8" x 10" photo of the 2000 Cadillac Twin-Turbo Northstar V8-Powered racecar coming through the tri-oval at the Daytona 24 Hours sportscar race weekend with Butch Leitzinger ( 3-time Rolex24 winner) at the wheel. Other drivers were Andy Wallace (1988 Le Mans winner + 3 Rolex24) and Franck Lagorce and all three autographed if for me. I purchased this (in the thick plastic sleeve it still resides in) from a photog early in the Rolex weekend and the drivers were kind enough to sign it. I worked on the program as an employee of Riley & Scott and even though the car was not running at the end, it was credited with a 3rd place podium in the Sports Racer class. Also included is a hero card from 2001 with Wayne Taylor driving the slightly different, updated Riley&Scott chassis, with information and driver head shots on the reverse. Those drivers were Marc Goossens, Eric Bernard and Emmanuel Collard in one car and Wayne Taylor, Max Angelelli and Christophe Tinseau in the other. Note that the trailing edge of the wing didn't make it into the signed photo, unfortunately. The race that year was part of the Grand American Road Racing Series, hence the SR (Sports Racer) designation next to the car number, as well as the double roll hoop that was required for that race. The car would go on to compete at the Sebring 12 Hours and Le Mans 24 Hours races (entered in the LMP-900 category) that year, as well as a few more. Wayne Taylor went on to have great success in IMSA both as a driver and team owner with six overall victories at the Rolex so far.
